3 Types of Equipment Used at Paint Production Plants and Factories

Have you ever painted a wall and wondered how paint is made? Have you noticed how smooth its texture is and have marveled at its uniformity? Are you thinking about the types of equipment used at a paint manufacturer’s factory? If you answered yes, then here are three types of equipment you will typically find at a paint production plant.

Color Mixing Tank

Color mixing tank is the first step in process paints. This is the phase where the dry pigment is blended into the liquid to create a pre-mix that is mixed uniformly.

Bead Grinding Mill

One of the most vital pieces of equipment found at paint production plants across the globe are bead grinding mill machines. As the name suggests, bead grinding mill machines use grinding beads to reduce particle size of the raw pigments used to make paint. The grinding beads that are used in the machine break down the solid particles of pigment to create an even dispersion throughout the liquid. This will have an effect of the gloss, coverage and texture of the final product.

Filling and Packaging Machine

Another type of equipment used in paint production factories or plants is filling and packaging machines. Once the final paint product has been processed and gone through a quality check, using special machinery, the product will move to the filling and packaging phase. This is where another machine will dispense the final product into suitable containers for distribution.

If you are a large paint production facility and manufacture several million pounds of paint each year, you are probably using similar equipment. These three types of equipment are vital to manufacturing high quality paints that can be used for painting a home, industrial usage and so much more in the paint and coatings industry.
