PG and VG

When it comes to vaping, it can be a bit overwhelming. There is a lot to learn about, from tankers and e-liquids to accessories and e-cig gear. However, you’ll need to start somewhere. Knowing the difference between PG and VG is a good starting point.

Definition

PG stands for propylene glycol, while VG stands for vegetable glycerin. Understanding how these two ingredients work can hugely affect the vaping experience and whether you’ll find it enjoyable or not.

E-Juice

Both of these liquids are odorless and typically combined with flavor and nicotine. The resulting mix is your e-juice, says Vaping360. When that combination is heated, it produces a vapor that you can inhale, allowing you to experience the same sensation of smoking but with a reduced nicotine intake.

Function

PG is responsible for the flavor, so the higher your PG is, the stronger or harsher the flavor will turn out to be. VG drastically mutes the flavor, though, so too much of it can eliminate the flavor all together. Essentially, too much of either could lead to a less than pleasant vaping experience. If you’re new at this, then be careful about the ratio of your PG and VG.

Ideal Ratio

There’s no magic ratio since it largely depends on your own personal taste. However, if you enjoy a throat hit, then get vapes with high PG. If you prefer a smoother feeling, then go for vapes with high VG instead. For some stealth vaping, which means less vapor produced, a high PG helps.

Go ahead and start exploring and comparing. That’s the best way to determine the perfect PG/VG ratio you should go for.
