Signs your Bathroom Plumbing Needs Renovation

by | Jul 19, 2018 | Plumbing

Commercial plumbing construction in Atlanta area usually deals with kitchen and bathroom plumbing. This article will go over the latter of those two. The bathroom is one of the rooms of the house where, you can forgive a lot, as long as the toilet works fine. But there are some points where you have to admit that the thing needs work, especially with the pipework. Faulty plumbing in your bathroom can end up resulting in leaky pipes and contaminated water. So if you feel like your bathroom plumbing is fine and needs no renovation, here are the signs that should cause you to reconsider.

#1. Low pressure

If there’s low water pressure in the pipes, then there’s nothing moving the water through the pipes and out the faucet and toilet. This results in the water coming out of the faucet and into the toilet bowl being half at best of what usually comes out. This can be caused by a wide variety of blockages, stops, and mineral build ups throughout your pipes. And if the water isn’t coming at all, then it’s time to call in the professionals for a renovation.

#2. Mold

This is an easy sign to spot. If you don’t see it, you’ll definitely smell it, Mold is not only smelly and disgusting to look at, but it can also seriously damage plumbing, often beyond repair if left unchecked. If you don’t take hygienic care of your bathroom, or if the pipes in the walls are leaking for a long enough time, then mold will start growing in your bathroom. And if it gets bad enough, then the damage may be irreparable.

#3. Discolored water

If your water is any color other than perfectly clear, then there is a very big problem with your pipes. If the water is black of brown, then that’s a sign of corrosion in the pipes or heating device. If the water is white or just cloudy, then there’s a sizable air pocket in the pipes. Either way, if the water is constantly discolored, then the pipes must be removed and replaced entirely. This usually happens with really old pipes, rusted and corroded over several decades of use, so make sure you figure out how old your plumbing is when you move into a house.

If any one of these gets too bad, then it requires a full renovation of the bathroom plumbing. And if you find yourself in this situation, there are no plumbing contractors more up to the task than Fitzgerald and Sons Plumbing Company.
