What You Want to Know Before Getting a Wax

The first time you get a wax, it is likely to be a nerve-wracking experience. Many people do not know what to expect. When they get there, they are sweating bullets because they have built the experience up to be far worse on their mind than it actually is. That being said, there are a few things you should know before you visit a wax center in Round Rock.

It Won’t Be Completely Comfortable

This one is obvious, but it is not as bad as most people expect. When you get waxed, there is going to be a certain level of mild pain, and this will vary from person to person. In general, it is not as bad as you expect. In the case of a wax, expect it to feel similar to ripping off a bandage. It is going to sting for a few seconds, but after that, it will quickly fade. Expect a bit of tenderness after, but nothing terrible.

It Last Much Longer Than Shaving

On average, a wax will last you between three and four weeks. Compare this to up to a couple of times a week shaving, and you can see why this option is so appealing. While your rate of growth may be faster than others, you should still get close to three weeks. If yours is slower, you may even get over a month between waxes.

Will I Get Ingrown Hairs?

This is going to depend on the person doing your wax. As a rule, getting a wax will not give you ingrown hairs in ideal situations, but there is a small chance. Ingrown hairs from a wax are the result of the hair follicle not being completely removed. When this happens, the hair can continue to grow under the skin causing an ingrown hair.

Getting a wax for the first time is likely to be an intimidating experience for you, but just remember, you have likely worked it up to be much worse in your head than it actually is.
